This course aims to establish a shared understanding of roles, responsibilities, and standards in research supervision, ensuring that postgraduate candidates receive high-quality guidance throughout their academic journey.

Structuring the Supervision Process
A structured supervision framework increases the likelihood of on-time completion. Supervisors and candidates are encouraged to hold formal bi-weekly progress meetings, document action items, and submit quarterly reports.
Key Timeline Milestones
- Research Proposal Defense: Typically conducted within the first 6–9 months of registration.
- Work in Progress (WIP) Seminar: Annual presentation to share tentative findings.
- Thesis Pre-Submission: Internal review 3 months prior to final submission.
- Viva Voce (Oral Examination): Final defense before the panel of examiners.
Supervisor Allocation & Registration
Students are matched with supervisors based on research interests and expertise compatibility. You can submit supervisor preferences through the student portal, along with your initial research abstract.
